Dancers, athletes, and fitness instructors are a few of the professions that experience chronic foot problems.   My earlier career as a professional dance instructor and then choreographer inspired me to develop my reflexology practice for people needing the proper holistic  therapeutic treatments necessary to maintain soundness and assist with injury prevention.  read more

My journey to Reflexology was an unexpected calling. There is no doubt that I have always been a people person, but I had no idea helping people heal was to be part of the agenda. Like something out of a movie, my story is quite a dramatic one with a very positive and life changing outcome.
When someone's lively hood is their feet as mine was, well it is life shattering.

Eight years ago while choreographing a 25th Anniversary corporate production, and producing the related event and product launch, both my feet were traumatized becoming paralyzed, and completely numb. I had also strangulated all the nerves in between each of my toes ( also known as neuromas ) .
The fascia on the soles and both heels were red and inflamed and the pain was almost unbearable, I really thought it was the end of the road.

The injuries were a result of concrete floors extremely long working hours, wrong shoes and wear and tear on my feet from a long dance career.
The bottom line, I was almost out of action. There were three more events to finish before a break lucky for me I was able to do it using a handicap scooter.
Needless to say thanks to a fun crew, I was nicknamed " Scooter girl "! They picked up my spirit but once home and facing reality I was left to move around on my Son's soccer knee pads, and my own but for stair climbing. The Doctors could not predict my future comeback, this was all very baffling.
The best that could be done was a series of cortisone shots in all of the neuromas. Cortisone had some success but only half way. You can only have so many shots so the rest would be up to me.

I spent the next 2 years reading everything I could get my hands on about, feet, wellness, holistic healing, and so on. All of my foot wear changed.
No pretty high heels or tap shoes for Linda! There were metatarsal lifts in everything, and I was still in pain. Fashion would have to wait.

"The turning point" One sunny Sunday morning while reading Vitality magazine on my back deck, a guardian angel hit me in the head!
A Foot Reflexology course was now registering...wasting no time I called.
Here was the road that would take me the rest of the way to wellness as well as a destination I did not expect. Travelling time was another 2 years.

I fell in love with this new art form, Reflexology a healing art and science. Giving it the same dedication, devotion, and determination I have always had in my career my heart and soul went into the study. While continuing to heal my own feet, creativity set in and I developed several unique rehabilitation exercises as well as the practice of self reflexology and a few other signature tricks for feet that I share with clients .
Reflexology works the mind, body and spirit, I am grateful that it was a means of treatment for me, and very grateful to have become a practitioner.

Today my feet are fully recovered , my journey happened for a reason , I wouldn't change a thing. Reflexology is an art and a science that views the feet, hands, and ears as maps that represent the entire body. Reflexology is an effective, touch-based modality in which specific thumb and finger techniques are used to stimulate “reflexive” points. In this manner, a reflexology session can provide deep relaxation, improve circulation, and create overall stress reduction in a gentle and non-invasive way.
